130 Health Personnel Check Qurban Meat in East Jakarta

As many as 130 health personnel were deployed to check qurban meat at several slaughtering locations in East Jakarta, Monday (6/17). The effort was held to make sure qurban meat is safe for consumption.

Acting East Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency Head, Iwan Indrianto, said the checking was conducted at slaughtering locations spread in 10 sub-districts in East Jakarta.

He also directly visited several locations such as Al Azhar Mosque Pulogebang, Sodri Assidhiq Mosque and so on.

"The checking was conducted before and after slaughtering," he said.

According to him, inspection to ensure that the meat being slaughtered is safe for consumption. Including whether there are tapeworms in the innards. If it is not suitable for consumption, added Iwan, it will be immediately destroyed.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency's Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Section Head, Theresia Ellita, admitted those 130 personnel will conduct checking up to June 19.

"One personnel is for one locations," she admitted.

According to her, no problematic sacrificial meat or offal has been found so far.
